I felt as though my heart was literally smiling this morning!! Emily, (my very 1st student @ H3-July 2012), is a student in my school. As I was walking through the commons area this morning, I greeted Emily as she came in from her bus. What a wonderful conversation we had this morning!
Ya see, I knew Emily, as one of my Kindergarten students, before she started her sessions at H3. I worked with Emily in Kindergarten as her EIP, (Early Intervention Program), teacher. The 1st year, she hardly ever spoke to me. Her second year, she would talk, but honestly, the things she would say, I could not understand, and her comments or single words would have nothing to do with the subject we were discussing?!
In an earlier blog, I shared with all of you, the day Emily spoke clearly to me! It was AWESOME!! Today, my heart was smiling, and I felt as though it was going to "jump out of my chest" as she and I carried on a conversation!! She spoke in complete sentences, telling me about her day yesterday...the doctor's visit, the new hospital, and her trip to Wal-Mart where she bought a new movie!
I love this little girl, as I do all of H3's participants. I enjoy seeing her each day at school, and watching her confidence grow!
